To celebrate the Feast of St. Francis, Franciscan Sister of Christian Charity Sister Elena Gonzales is joined by Sister Jan Villemure and Sister Anne Marie Selinsky for a dramatic reading of the final moments  of St. Francis’ life. The text is based on The Life of Saint Francis by  Julian of Speyer. “Julian writes to move the figure of Francis forward toward a practical and pastoral application of Christology…Julian writes to encourage his younger brothers in their way of life.” (Introduction , Francis of Assisi The Saint Early Documents, p. 365)

“Then the most sacred body was carried into the city and buried in the place where he had first learned his letters as a little boy and where he had later preached for the first time, with the result that it was clear that a happy beginning, an even happier middle and the happiest end had suitably come together through this body into one single height of glory.”

May the Lord prepare your heart to celebrate the Feast of St. Francis. Blessings to you and those you love! Peace and all good from all of us Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity!
