Affirming World Day of Prayer for Consecrated Life, Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity offer Spring 2022 Discernment Events and Resources for Single Catholic Women 20-35
The Sisters also are featuring the “Living Consecrated Life” conversations at discern your Franciscan calling. Both newer Sisters in formation and longtime vowed Sisters have come from ‘the East Coast, West Coast and North Coast’ to the Fresh Coast of Northeast Wisconsin joining the Franciscan Community at Holy Family Convent.
Sisters featured in the six part series are: Sr. Carmen Marie Diaz, Professed Sister (Translator Green Bay Diocese) Home Archdiocese, Los Angeles CA; Sr. Anne Turba Professed Sister (Nurse Practitioner) Home Diocese Green Bay; Sr. Concepcion Medina, Temporary Professed Sister (Nursing Student) Home Diocese: San Angelo Texas; Sr. Maria Guadalupe Martinez Lopez Temporary Professed Sister (Student) Home Diocese: Raleigh North Carolina; Sr. Carol Seidl, Professed Sister (recently Principal at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic School, Casa Grande, Arizona in the Diocese of Tucson), Home Diocese Green Bay Wisconsin; Sr. Mary Jane Schwartz, Novice Sister, Home Diocese Marquette Michigan.
Sr. Carmen Marie Diaz reflected “When I came to the convent, I came with the attitude that I would give everything to God…. I came from Los Angeles, California to Manitowoc, Wisconsin. It was quite a leap culturally. It’s a culture in itself. It was quite an experience.”
Sr Concepcion Medina noted: “I was a first year Novice. Whatever I said inspired (the Sister with me) to look at me and say “God gives you the grace that you need whenever you need it. Not before. Not after. Just as you need it.” I think that’s been so true, especially through the adjustment of each stage of formation- Postulancy, then Novitiate, then Temporary Profession, then second year of Temporary Profession. Every year there’s this new adjustment stage.”
Spring 2022 Retreats and Resources include: Design Your Own Convent Visit at our Wisconsin Motherhouse or one of our convents in the U.S. for a portion of a day or a few days while discerning God’s call. Meet those in Initial Formation, also many of our Sisters who have lived our Franciscan vocation and have experiences to share.
