Franciscan Sister of Christian Charity Cecilia Joy Kugel converses with Cistercian Nun Marie-Pierre of Valley of Our Lady Monastery about their contemplative charism. They reflect on the benefit of Discernment of Spirits Retreats the two congregations co-sponsor at the Cistercian Monastery in Central Wisconsin. Other DOS Retreats are held in other locations. As retreat director Sr Jacqueline Spaniola explains, the Retreats are designed for young adult single Catholic women, and enable insight to discern how the Holy Spirit speaks to you, and informs and inspires intentional life decisions. They are based on the discernment process developed by St. Ignatius to guide you in understanding God’s will for your life. An opportunity to meet active and contemplative religious, and be introduced to Franciscan, Benedictine and Jesuit Charisms.
