Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity were invited to Sacred Heart Parish, Appleton, Wisconsin to lead the music at their 4:30 p.m. Saturday evening Eucharist. Pastor Father John Katamba welcomed us as part of their Parish Fest weekend.

Mary Delfosse, who was instrumental in extending the invitation, wrote after the event: “Thank you again for your time, it was truly beautiful I had tears in my eyes at the Ave Maria. That is a beautiful song and all of you sang beautifully. Blessed Mother Mary will watch over all of us and I know she was smiling. Know that I will keep all of you and your community in my prayers. I am so blessed to have a connection to the Holy Family Convent and the Sister community.”

Needless to say, our times of praying with others is ever enriching for us. St. Francis said, “Spiritual joy arises from purity of the heart and perseverance in prayer.” We are blessed to see this active in the parishes we visit throughout the country.

I am sure the music was beautiful, as it always seems to be. But it would be nice to have a harp sometimes when you are asked to sing at different places.
Your community has a musician who is excellent on the harp; Sister Marsaia Kaster, and she even has a traveling size harp!
