A special Easter Season Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity highlight was a Holy Family Parish, Marinette, Wisconsin Women’s Day at Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc. Jeri Keepers, Faith Formation Coordinator, was the enthusiastic on the ground pilgrimage planner registering interested Grandmothers, Mothers and Daughters. Many Sisters carried out hospitality roles to make the 10 AM-2 PM experience a ‘Holy Moment’ for all involved.

Along with tour, Mass and meal, there were age-appropriate activities for all. Adults had reflection time at Chiara Convent, within walking distance of our Motherhouse. Sister Pam Biehl led this Easter Season focused time of seeing Jesus in our midst. Earlier at Eucharist, Franciscan Friar of the Our Lady of the Guadalupe Province, Fr. Placid Stroik asked all to ponder two questions: Who told you about Jesus? Who are you going to tell about Jesus?

Here are some other starter comments from our Sisters about the day:

“What a privilege to be a part of the Grandmother-Mother-Daughter event on April 6. The values of faith and family were obvious in the women and the girls who attended. Their enthusiasm and interest in growing in their faith gave me great hope for the future of our Church.” -Sister Theresa Feldkamp

“If one could put JOY into a spray bottle and spritz it all around, one would surely want to fill that bottle with the women from wee to wise that joined us from Holy Family Parish in Marinette. Our convent home was sparkling with the spirit of expectation and eagerness as each activity and encounter unfolded. Having personally shared the baking project with the younger set, I found that every sense was busy taking in the story of the Risen Jesus and putting that story into a delicious form. The appearance and then disappearance of “Marshmallow Jesus” was a wonder to behold!” -Sister Kathleen Murphy

Our pictures tell more of the story. Sister Concepcion Medina and Sister Christine Stoller filled this important ministry of sharing the good news.
