Franciscan Sister’s Artwork Requested for Franciscan Schools of Australia

Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity Sister Mariella Erdmann shares on a recent request from Alison Stone, Franciscan Schools of Australia regarding her artwork.

I was contacted by Alison Stone who works for the Franciscan Schools of Australia. The FSA, requested to use my artwork, Canticle of the Creatures. for a pull up banner in honor of the 800-year anniversary of The Canticle of the Creatures in 2025, which you see in this post. The FSA mission is to enrich Franciscan Spirituality within schools through charism support, resources and connection. They work in service of Franciscan schools all around Australia. Currently there are approximately 75 schools, both elementary and secondary.

Michael O’Brien is the Vice-rector, Mission & Identity of Padua College situated in Kedron, Brisbane, Australia. Padua College, an independent boys school of 1500 students under the care of the Franciscan Friars (OFM). also, asked permission to use the Canticle Image on their 2025 College Candle. Each year they prepare a new College Candle to be used at all of their gatherings during that year. Mr. O’Brien, also, has permission to use the series of the six canticle images I created for pull up banners that will help decorate foyers, assembly stages etc, because he says, “They are very eye-catching and a beautiful reminder to us of the goodness of God’s Creation.” He will ask one of the Friars to say a Mass for our Community and for vocations in appreciation for use of my artwork.
