As the school year begins, Franciscan Sister of Christian Charity Sister Mary Teresa Bettag reflects on the reality of “every person is made in the image and likeness of God”. You are not anonymous to God. And Jesus wants you to know Who He is to you. “Jesus already knows you!” Sister Mary Teresa is a Theology teacher and Cross-Country Coach at Yuma Catholic High School, Yuma, Arizona.

Since 1869, Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity have served in Catholic Health Care, Education, Campus Ministry and Parish-Community Service in Dioceses in Michigan, Wisconsin, the Midwest, Central and Southwest U.S. God Calls You. We Invite You Dios te llama. Te invitamos.

Thank you, Sister Mary Teresa, for a beautiful, uplifting, inspiring commentary on your family relationships and how they have influenced your prayer and your religious life! I could identify especially with your mom who is so much like my mom. We were often in the car, after church, waiting for my mom to finish conversations with the many people she knew and loved. Have a great school year!

Thanks for all of the info Sister Mary Tersea – your childhood memories were interesting to read…..I am sure the children at your school in Yuma are enjoying having you in their lives. I was not fortunate to attend a Catholic school growing up – but entering into the 9th grade – we all had to go to the same High School – and by golly those kids from St Joseph’s left us in the dust in the classrooms…So, you are giving your kids a marvelous head start in future life at your school. I hope your school year goes well. God bless….
