Blessed to be invited to the Catholic Ecology Center’s Young Adult Weekend, Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity Sister Michelle Marie Ozuna and Sister Hannah Johnecheck share their experience of this special place that helps visitors to connect with Christ and His Creation, as well as deepen their awareness of stewardship of the earth. It is also one of the designated official Archdiocese of Milwaukee pilgrimage sites for the Jubilee Year of St. Francis of Assisi. Stop by with your family and friends soon and often.

The Catholic Ecology Center orchestrated a beautiful and prayerful experience for the 30 women and men who attended the 1st annual young adult retreat weekend. We arrived a little before supper and were able to help set up the meal and chat with the young women and men in attendance.  While sharing the meal, we enjoyed the sunny weather and then prepared for adoration.  Adoration was such a prayerful and beautiful experience it was held in the outdoor amphitheater.  What a beautiful setting for Adoration amongst God present in nature. The sun rays mixed with the rising incense as I sung in my head, “O Lord let my prayers rise before you like incense.” There was also a chance for reconciliation, night prayer and benediction. It was a pleasure to journey with those in attendance and inspiring and hopeful to witness their faith and reverence throughout the evening. -Sister Michelle Marie

Sister Michelle Marie and I shared and prayed with faith-filled young adults in the midst of God’s amazing creation. Throughout the evening you sensed all creation was God’s cathedral and truly is, as Gerard Manley Hopkins wrote, “…bursting with grandeur of God”. -Sister Hannah
