Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity Sister Myra Jean Sweigart, Sister Theresa Feldkamp, Sister Caritas Strodthoff, Sister Anne Turba, Sister Elaine Turba and Sister Julie Ann Sheahan followed the expected summer construction signs on Saturday, August 15, 2026 to Sacred Heart Parish, Appleton, Wisconsin.
Our Sisters were invited through Mary Delfosse and the Parish Fest Committee to lead the music for the Saturday evening Mass. Our Blessed Mother was with us as we found our reserved parking spot in front of the parish garages on a beautiful Assumption feast day. An almost instant blessing on arrival was the help of Ron who opened the door to us and our instrumental baggage.
This is a parish that makes musicians sound good. Congregational singing was full and spirited especially on the traditional Marian songs. As one person commented: “the roof was lifted up.”
After Mass Father John Kleinschmidt graciously helped us carry out instruments out to the vans. Next, we joined the food lines and made our choices of menus. We enjoyed many a conversation with people who were knew our Sisters whether as relatives, teachers or friends. It is always good to be home wherever we go.
