A sabbatical in 1993 gave Sister Lynne the opportunity to audition for a national Sisters’ choir that was forming. The purpose of the choir was to make recordings to provide financial assistance for retired members of Religious Congregations throughout the United States. Sister Lynne auditioned along with 300 other Sisters for the Choir. She was one of 57 Sisters selected to be a part of the three recordings of the Sisters in Song. This was a “rare and a once-in-a-lifetime experience” for Sister Lynne. From a newspaper article in the Herald Times Reporter on April 6, 1994 I quote Sister Lynne, “I saw the project as a way of Sisters doing something in a positive manner while being of service to our own Sisters and retired Religious. It was an opportunity to work with people renowned in the field of Church music, people who love to sing and use their talents. Our experience revealed the beauty of many voices converging to create a tremendous unity of sound.”
During this sabbatical year Sister Lynne volunteered as a Campus Minister at Marquette University in Milwaukee. That opportunity opened the door to being Campus Minister at Silver Lake College then eventually to be Director of Worship at St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Manitowoc.
