Franciscan Sisters Featured on Austin TX ‘Joe’s People’

December 28, 2014

During this Yaar of Consecrated Life declared by Pope Francis, Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity were guests  on Joe’s People in Austin, TX. We invite you to  click here to hear the interview. It was a memorable occasion in a trendy ‘Steaming Tea” recording space.

As with all guests, Joes considered us friends. In truth we became friends, because Joe is a friend of a friend.  This was an opportunity for Joe not only to get to  know us better, but also it was an opportunity to enjoy a laugh and good conversation with him.  As with all growth in personal relationships, Joe of course, asked questions that added to a real depth of sharing e.g. , what does it mean to be Franciscan;how did you know you were called to be a Franciscan Sister.

Here’s what Joe says about himself: “Joe is a Catholic engineer, entrepreneur, world-traveler, swing dancer, and man-about-town.  A raconteur, if you will.  He’s from a big fat German (or Austrian) Catholic family.  He’s spent a bit too much time reading Latin and Greek writers, not enough reading C.S. Lewis and G.K. Chesterton.  Some have called him a visionary.  Some, not so much.”
