Special to the Blessed Mother’s month, Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity joined young adults at an evening at the Shrine of Our Lady of Good Help, New Franken, WI. Prayer, Adoration, music, opportunities for the Sacrament of Reconciliation, food and fellowship were part of this Diocese of Green Bay event.

Franciscan Sisters pray with Young adults at Our Lady of Good Help ShrineImportant to this gathering were selected Scripture passages and 4 questions.

  • Philippians 4:6-7: Have no anxiety at all, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, make your requests known to God. Then the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

“Is God bigger than my stresses?”

  • Jeremiah 29:11-13: For I know well the plans I have in mind for you, says the Lord, plans for your welfare, not for woe! Plans to give you a future full of hope. When you call me, when you go to pray to me, I will listen to you. When you look for me, you will find me.

“Where is God calling me?”

  • John 14:1-3: Do not let your hearts be troubled. You have faith in God; have faith also in me. In my Father’s house there are many dwelling places. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back again and take you to myself, so that where I am, you also may be.

“What is my place in the world?”

  • Phillippians 1:6-7: I am confident of this, that the one who began a good work in you will continue to complete it until the day of Christ Jesus…you who are all partners with me in grace.

“How do I live out my vocation?”

There were ‘live’ comments on the references. We offer them to you for your Franciscan Sisters highlight young adult tshirtown personal reflection remembering words of Our Lady to the young Belgian immigrant woman Adele Brise in 1859, “Do not be afraid; I will help you.” Like the Blessed Mother and St. Francis, may the words of Scripture give us direction as well as call us to greater depth of love and service.
