July 23, 2015

On the Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Mary Bettag from Sts. Cyril and Methodius Parish, Sheboygan, WI, began another step in her call to be a Franciscan Sister of Christian Charity. Our whole Community celebrated her completion of all requirements to enter the Postulancy. What joyous news!

The simple ritual of calling forth and a blessing took place at 4:45 p.m. in St. Mary Chapel at Evening Prayer.

While our Franciscan Sisters gathered to pray with and for Mary, we also Franciscan postulant Mary Bettag 4asked blessing on Sister Mariella Erdmann, Postulant Directress, and the Sisters missioned at Immaculate Conception Convent, Yuma, AZ. The first semester Mary will be doing her student teaching at Yuma Catholic High School in Theology and Math. Mary is a recent graduate of Silver Lake College of the Holy Family, Manitowoc, WI and attended Roncalli High School, Manitowoc, WI.

Each day is good, blessed and promising. Our formation program hopes to provide the needed experiences that will foster growth for each young woman that God calls to us. Pray with us for those currently walking with us and others whom God is calling today! Click here to learn more about us.
